Get to know Sammie Forbes

Born and raised in Dallas Texas, Sammie trained at Top Hat Dancer Centre for 14 years. This studio became her second home/family and it is where she got her first teaching experience. This is where her love for commercial jazz started. Since graduating from Top Hat she is now attending and finishing a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance Performance degree at Oklahoma City University. While being a full-time student, Sammie continues to find opportunities to train and grow her connections in both LA and New York City. Her dream job is to be a backup dancer for a famous artist on tour. After Sammie is done performing, her goal is to pursue a career in dance medicine.

Meme's Angel's

Sammie's grandparents, Meme and Poppop, are the reason she can pursue her passion as a career and she owes any accomplishment to them.

When Meme passed away from breast cancer Sammie and all 5 of her younger cousins/brother decided to start a fundraiser. They ended up raising $18,645 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

This was just the beginning of Sammie's participation and excitement for community service and fundraising.
